Sick of the election process and trying to decide how to vote? Yeah, me too. Chances are great this post won’t be read by anyone simply because everyone is discouraged and tired. Worn out! But, in case you’re here, I have three choices you can make on election day – three things you can do to help you know you’ve done the right thing
.
DO NOT bury your head in the sand.
Do know that if you don’t vote, many will remind you what your position wasn’t while your head was stuck in the sand. Your voice will go unheard from the day after the election until the next. Don’t be fearful. Join the masses and vote. Keep this scripture in mind.
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.” I Peter 3:8-9
DO NOT vote for the person.
Do vote for the policies and agendas that represent the person’s spot on the ballot. Try www.isidewith.com to help you match person to policy. Keep this scripture in mind as you decide what policies are best.
“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12
DO NOT trust humankind to get it right.
Do trust God. He has it all under control.
He said, “Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. Daniel 2:20-21
